Sensitive information.

  • Your governance votes, and your membership of the community, could reveal political or other beliefs. We use them only to run governance.
  • We keep your vote choices private from other citizens, except where you act as a public delegate.
  • In the EU/UK, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give when you sign the Governance Addendum, and on the fact that you have chosen to make your membership known to the community.

5. Things you should know

  1. Chat is not end-to-end encrypted. Our administrators can access messages when needed for safety, moderation, support or legal reasons.
  2. Location in your files.
    • Photos, voice and video notes keep their embedded metadata, which may include where they were taken.
    • We keep this information with the file and do not remove it. There is no option to remove location data. Every upload screen shows the notice "Photos and video can contain the place they were taken. We keep this information with the file." If you do not want to share a location, do not upload that photo or recording, or turn off location tagging in your camera settings before you record.
    • Other users see your content in the app. Only you and our admins can download the original file.
  3. Votes. Votes are recorded with an audit trail so results can be checked.

11. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, multi-factor authentication for admins, audit logs and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
