Freedom Nation began with a simple idea: people do better when they meet their own needs together, instead of waiting for someone else to decide whether they qualify. Fifteen years on, it's a community of citizens learning the same principles, keeping each other honest, and building a village of their own in the Georgia countryside.

From an idea to a village
Freedom Nation has been growing since 2011. Its ideas were set down in 2015, when Chairman Faruq Hunter wrote The Principles of Freedom: three principles, three questions and twelve commitments for anyone who wants to stand on their own feet and lift others while they do it.
In 2021 the first lot was cleared at Freedom Village, 205.4 acres near Sparta in Hancock County, Georgia. The land was organised under a Declaration of Condominium in 2022, so that each citizen can hold rights to their own unit while the village grows as one place. Today citizens and their families live there, a sawmill turns the land's own timber into lumber, and the village has its first mayor.
In 2026 we rebuilt the way people join. Everyone who becomes a citizen now takes the same course, makes the same commitments and signs the same plain-language agreements, so every new neighbour starts from the same place.
Three founding principles
These have guided Freedom Nation from the start. They're why we teach before we enrol, publish our prices, and let citizens vote.
Self-determination
You decide your own path. We give you the knowledge and the community to meet your own needs, so nobody else gets to decide whether you qualify for a good life.
Community over individualism
We go further together. Citizens share what they know, help each other build, and have a say in the decisions that shape the community.
Radical transparency
Nothing hidden. Every price is published before you pay, every agreement is written in plain words, and every vote comes with a receipt.

A Georgia company that runs the Freedom Nation platform, the course and your dues. It's the "Project Manager" in your Citizenship Teaming Agreement.
