Re-Shaping Minds
The Freedom Builder story started on top a snow covered mountain between the Ukraine and Romania. Sitting between the immense resources of the region and a village of over 2000 people, a question was asked, ‘Why don’t more people access the raw materials that are near them to build what their homes and communities?’. In the search for an answer to this question, the founders of Freedom Builders went on a 2 year discovery mission. Seeking out innovators and local citizens of over 38 countries to learn the things that both enabled and disabled their ability to create innovative means to use their own materials to resolve their needs. In the end the answer was simple, but disturbing. Although the proper tools and knowledge remain an obstacles, the frame of mind, and lack of normality of what was possible was the prime inhibitor that disallowed people from utilizing their local materials to build their homes with the height of professionalism and accuracy. Freedom Builders was established as a professional builder utilizing local materials in order to re-shape people’s minds and show them what is possible.
A Better Model
Freedom Builders is built on solid business principles. By utilizing the local materials found on the site for which freedom builders builds homes, we are able to reduce the cost of high quality building materials, completely eliminate the cost of transporting of those materials and provide experienced hands on attention to the production of those materials. As with any luxury home the primary cost is in highly skilled labor. However, when utilizing natural materials the cost increases significantly. On average production luxury home builders charge between $250 to $400 per sq ft.utilizing Low cost materials like HDF & ADF, particle board and sheet rock. Building from high quality non-toxic materials is something that is reserved for only the wealthiest of home buyers. Along side highly skilled craftsman, custom luxury homes average between $450 – $650 dollars per square foot. Freedom Builders model reduces that cost to the cost of a production luxury home. By not having to take out loans as a builder in order to build the house we are able to offer 0% financing from our own company. That reduces your monthly payments down to that of a low-cost production home that cost $100-$150 dollars per square foot.

Freedom Builders does not build on the Grid homes. For every home we develop we identify an individual and distributed source for every life sustaining system in the home. Alternative electricity, well based water, Localized sewage treatment and gray water recycling, Food growth and storage and full system monitoring and automation are all considered in the development of a Freedom Builder home. As an off-grid home builder, our responsibility is to jump start all the systems that allow our home owners to serve all of their essential needs within their own environment. A Freedom Builder home is not just a start of a better way to live but also the start of an empowered lifestyle of Freedom that will change our home owners lives and the trajectory of their future. In addition, Freedom Builders offers maintenance and service plans to assist home owners in insuring that systems run as intended and training programs to assist home owners adapt to their self sufficient lifestyle.
